Ulf mainly works with media and IP law, competition and market law-related issues and dispute resolution. Ulf regularly represents clients in court and has extensive experience of both administrative and civil proceedings, including before the Supreme Court, the Supreme Administrative Court and the Patent and Market Court, as well as internationally before the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg and the European Court in Strasbourg. Notable cases include a claim against the Swedish Competition Authority before the Swedish Market Court and assisting the National Swedish Public Service Broadcaster before the Swedish Supreme Court in a matter regarding the relationship between Swedish law and European Union law.
Ulf was a member of the Parliamentary Committee tasked to review the rules on the coordination of damages, compensation from public insurance schemes and compensation from other types of insurance in connection with personal injuries (directive 1999:18) and the Parliamentary Privacy Committee (directive 2014:65). He has been commissioned by the Swedish Bar Association on a number of occasions to draft consultation responses to the Swedish Government. Ulf has also been a guest speaker for many years on copyright and media law at Stockholm University.
Ulf has published several articles, especially within the field of EU law and media and IP law. He authored the chapter on non-contractual liability in Cyber Law in Sweden (main author Christine Kirchberger) Wolters Kluwer 2011 and 2014 In 2018 he updated this chapter for a third edition. He is the author of the section on Swedish law in Carter-Ruck on Libel and Privacy, Sweet & Maxwell 2010 and an update to be published in 2020.
